Weekend Slideshow

From time to time we have all been unproductive or counterproductive in decision-making, have experienced negative thought patterns, and made poor decisions. However, rather than repeating these failed behaviors and thought processes, successful people are able to rise above and recognize their failures to make permanent and positive decisions they’ll never regret. During this six-week series we will identify the behavior and thought processes of successful people.

We will explore the message of the Live and Learn series in our Small Groups. If you have been thinking about joining or starting a small group, this is the perfect time to do so. CLICK HERE to get more information about small groups here at Ascension.  You can also sign up after Mass at the Information Booth in the Family Center.

Our new Ascension Catholic Church polo shirts are available in both men and women’s sizes from Small to 2X-large. The price for these beautiful, high quality shirts is $25; however, for those parishioners who are active in ministry and/or mission, you will be able to purchase your shirt at cost for only $15! Stop in the Family Center after the Sunday Masses for additional information.

Our Altar is not in keeping with the requirements of what an altar should be (i.e., it is made of plywood and can be picked up by one person and easily removed from the church). As a result, one person donated money for a new Altar for our parish in memory of her belated husband. From there, her sons committed to donate money for a new matching Baptismal Font, since our font, which is on wheels and rusting, is also not suitable for the First of all Sacraments, that is also necessary for salvation. During the planning meeting, one of the family members suggested that I have all 4 appointments for the Sanctuary done at one time so they all match. To that end, I am asking for donations (individually or collectively) to be made for the following 2 items:

  • Ambo (which will total $12,982)
  • Tabernacle (which will total $11,979)

Thank you for anything you are able to do in this venture, not only to beautify our church, but also to add dignity to our worship of God as we thank Him, when we gather for Mass, for the gift of our salvation.

Effective June 2nd, the Sunday morning Mass times will change FROM 7:30, 9:00 and 10:30 am TO 8:00 and 10:00 am. We will have the Children’s Liturgy at the 10:00 am and 12:00 noon Masses. The Saturday Vigil Mass will remain at 4:30 pm and the Sunday evening Mass will remain at 7:00 pm.

July 19-21

We are taking 15 teenagers to the Steubenville conference this year! We are so excited to see how God will move in their lives. If you would like to sponsor a teen by committing to pray for them now through the conference, you can pick up a name card at the info booth or church office. If you would like to monetarily support a student, you can drop off your donation at the church office. The cost is $600 per student. This is a life changing event for our teens and we appreciate your support!

We would like to train about 25 new volunteers to prepare for Holy Week and Easter. Please pray about how you can serve. CLICK HERE to complete a Ministry Interest Form and we will be glad to contact you and provide additional information.

If you can point and click with a mouse, you can be one of our technology volunteers! We need 4-6 people to train to run the slides during Mass. If you are interested, stop by the Info Booth after Mass to leave your name and number, or call Cindy at 561-654-6085.

Need help with processing the loss of a loved one? We are here to help. The Ascension Bereavement Group meets weekly on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 in the parish office chapel. The group discusses many aspects of grief and provides tools and support to help an individual deal with the process of grief through the Harvesting Of Tears program. The program is facilitated by your parish nurse, Barbara Bzura RN MSN. We are beginning a new group on February 12th. Please consider giving the group a try; many parishioners have been through the program and were happy that they did. There is no pressure to speak or share, and it is completely confidential. Please register with the office or call Barb Bzura at 561-699-3553. Don’t go it alone. We are here for you.

The Missions ministry continues to collect travel size toiletries to make hygiene bags for the homeless. We are in great need of travel sized shaving cream, deodorant and dental floss. Collection bins are located in the Family Center next to the Information Booth and in the Chapel area of the Church.
