From Cindy Nau, Communications Director: We are blessed to be back to public Masses, to celebrate in community and share in the Blessed Eucharist at the Lord’s table. However, we are not doing church the way we normally would. It is hard to share community when we are behind masks, cannot share a physical sign of peace, or have a cup of coffee together. We pray for the time we can return to a more normal way to be together at church.
In our heart of hearts, we all want to be generous – to be people who are givers. This is because we bear the image of God and God is a giver. All of this world is gift. And God gave his most precious gift at Christmas when he sent his Son into the world. God loves and so God gave his son. This is why at the Christmas season we give as well.
Our next message series, Defining Moments begins the weekend of January 2nd-3rd. The whole story of salvation and Scripture is full of defining moments. God creates moments for the men and women he invites into his larger story. They are moments of insight and understanding, moments when he offers a clean break and fresh start, there are moments in which he gives special encouragement, there are moments when he calls his leaders into something more.
In this series, we will look at the moments God uses to impact people so that we can be open to receive them. We will also look at how we can learn to create moments for others as a way to love them.
If you are interested in joining a small group, please email our Small Group Coordinator, JoAnne Cianfichi. She will help you connect with a group that is just right for you. You can also complete our Small Group Interest Form and we will be glad to get back to you.
NEW VIRTUAL SUNDAY SERIES!
In The Bible and the Church Fathers you will learn who the Early Church Fathers were and how they shaped the way we read Scripture. This is a virtual, video based study and we meet on Zoom for about an hour. The Zoom invitation is posted weekly on Facebook, on our Parish App and by Email via firstname.lastname@example.org.
This series, from the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio is written by notable theologians Dr. Scott Hahn and Mike Aquilina and narrated by Matthew Leonard.
