Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Ascension Church has a dedicated group of parishioners that assist our priests with distributing the Body of Christ at our daily and weekend Masses. An EMHC may also bring Holy Communion to the home-bound. Training sessions are available throughout the year if you are interested in joining this important ministry. Please call the parish office at 561-997-5486 for more information.

Lectors are liturgical ministers that are responsible for proclaiming the scripture readings at Mass. This includes the first and second readings during the Liturgy of the Word. Lectors also recite the prayer of the faithful. Parishioners interested in being selected for this ministry should be comfortable speaking at a microphone in front of the congregation. Appropriate dress, timely arrival to Mass and adherence to the schedule are also important aspects of this ministry.  For more information, please call the parish office at 561-997-5486.

Technology Team

Members of our Technology Team provide support in displaying the slides that are used during Mass. Our slides display important information before Mass, allow parishioners to see the text of our readings and the words to the songs. If you can point and click with a mouse, you can be one of our technology volunteers!  For addition information call Cindy at 561-997-5486.

(Please note, due to COVID-19 restrictions, servers are currently not assisting at Mass.)

Students in fourth grade or higher are invited to participate in this important ministry. Altar servers assist at our weekend liturgies in addition to special services for Holy Week, Confirmation, First Holy Communion and Christmas. They lead the processional and recessional at Mass, hold the book for the priest during Mass prayers and assist with preparation of the altar and of the gifts during the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Training sessions are held throughout the year. We encourage all eligible students to consider taking a more active role in the Mass by becoming an altar server. For more information, please call the parish office at 561-997-5486.
