OVERVIEW OF THE SCHOOL OF CHRISTIAN FORMATION
We teach courses at various locations around the Diocese. A team of over 40 professors which includes Priests, Deacons, Lay Theologians and lay teachers well qualified in their areas of teaching conduct the courses. At the present time, over 500 students have completed the whole program and received a Certificate from the hands of the Bishop. They have also received a Catechist’s Certificate from the Diocesan Office of Catechetical Leadership. The program provides adult religious education and faith formation, upper level catechist certification, enhanced preparation for ministry and a deeper knowledge of the faith we receive at baptism.
The School of Christian Formation seeks to make its programming accessible to all persons in the diocese who are interested in learning more about their faith tradition. In matters regarding scheduling of times and locations, as well as the payment of fees, one of our primary goals is to meet the needs and limitations of participants in the program. While the fee for each class is $10, plus the price of the text book, persons who wish to participate in the program and are active in parish ministry may wish to seek financial support from their parish. No one will be excluded for lack of funds. If you have a problem meeting the suggested donation please contact us. In order to have an optimal teaching and learning experience, the class registration will try to be limited to 25 persons per class. Please note that there is a possibility that other locations may be added to the schedule as needed.
