The last book of the New Testament is also probably the most difficult and misunderstood book of the    Bible. This is due to the fact that almost everything described in Saint John’s vision is symbolic of   something else. The Early Church Fathers believed that the Book of Revelation was an icon of the Mass. Discover the beauty that unfolds each time we celebrate the Marriage Feast of the Lamb!

catholic_church_historyA STUDY OF CHURCH HISTORY:  The story of the Catholic Church spans thousands of years.  Janine Dickson will be the presenter for this interesting study of church history.  Classes will begin October 10 and run through January 16.  We are offering both a morning and evening weekly session:

  • Mondays:  7 – 8:30 p.m., OR
  • Tuesdays:  10 – 11:30 a.m.

With an unlikely beginning in a remote outpost of the Roman empire, the Catholic Church now claims over a billion living members.  The persecutions, martyrdoms, conquests, and   triumphs all came together to shape Western civilization as we know it today.  Our identity as Catholics means that we are the inheritors of the deeds of holy men and women who for 2,000 years have built a great civilization and spread the Gospel throughout the world.  Church history is not just the recitation of popes,  people, places, and events; it is a story of adventure, intrigue, rebellion, reform, and devotion. This story is, in fact, our story; this is our family.  If we know our past, and how we fit into the story, we will be better prepared to face whatever may come in the future.

bible_study_unlocking_mysteriesUNLOCKING THE MYSTERY OF THE BIBLE:  In this course you will learn the story of Salvation from beginning to end.  You will learn to navigate through the  Old Testament & the New Testament.  This simple program uses the Bible Timeline learning system to give people a useful framework from which to read and understand the Bible. We will take a chronological walk through the Bible story in a way that reveals God’s plan for His Creation; what went wrong at the beginning; and how God worked through history to reconcile his lost children to Himself while building His kingdom.  Classes will begin the Spring of 2017.  Check back for details or contact Jocelyne Carrigan at the phone and Email listed above for additional information.
